Tonight we were able to list some thirty-six old hickory golf clubs in outstanding condition. These clubs come from the collection of a gentleman who has perhaps the largest (and finest) private golf collection.
These 36 come with names like Oriole, Gold Smith, Sayers Merion, Spalding, Hillerich, Alphen Piccadilly and other famous and well known names to the golf collector.
Take for example this very playable Hickory golf driver with a spliced head and a metal sole plate. It has an original grip and is very rare. The Hickory shaft is complimented by a calfskin grip and is believed to be circa 1900. It’s all original and in overall very good to excellent condition. The original hickory shaft is unmarked and without cracks, fits tightly and is straight. The head is clean without any manufacturer name or marking. The grip is in good condition and shows some wear.
Then there is this very rare steel shafted SP Cleek with an original calf skin grip. It is what is referred to as a “Fancy Face” because of just that.. the fancy design on the face of the club. The club is all original and in overall excellent condition. The unmarked original steel shaft is black and fits tightly into the socket – and is straight. The head has the expected play dings on the face and metal sole. The grip is a well done, calfskin wrap that is probably original as well. It shows very little normal wear and is tight and complete.
We also listed this vintage golf ball mold from around the 1920s. It has a dimple pattern. There are no markings inside the mold but on each end is visible the word Attleboro which we assumes to be Attleboro, Mass. It also has the number “S-71″ one the mold.

Well this is clearly a new avenue for me. I know a bit about collectibles… but baseball cards? Very little.
These cards are all (or mostly) from the Topps Company and a great deal of them are from their “Stadium Club” collection. There are dozens and dozens of long white boxes, about 15″ x 4″ x 3″, full of brand new color cards, printed obviously on both sides.
I pulled out a few and not being a big baseball fan, most of the names were just that.. names. There were a few however that I did recognize, like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Cal Ripkin (from the 1993 Stadium box)
So my question dear reader is…
“Is there a market for these cards and if so, where?” My assumption is that eBay is perhaps one of the best sources, but how do I market these? Again, I assume they should be sold by the box but I have no way to guarantee that each and every original card is in the box, although they are tightly packed and probably the way they came from the manufacturer/printer.

The Marklin/1 Maxi #54720 is a Union Pacific Passenger car in the UP standard yellow color. The actual car number is 56. It has wonderful interior details and seating and is on a four-axle all metal wheel and chassis construction. It has an open platform on both ends along with a brake wheel. This is an extremely rare piece that was sold out by the manufacturer. It comes from us in its original packaging and box and is in very good condition. Like all Marklin trains it was manufactured for multi-generation durability.
We also listed the Marklin/1 Maxi #54756 Fuller-Warren Low sided wagon. This is a low sided freight car with a cloth tarp that reads “The Fuller-Warren Co. and shows the locations of Milwaukee, Wis and Chicago, Ill. It’s on two axles and is blue with the white tarp. It’s a G-scale item for operation with a minimum radius for operation of 600 mm. or 23-5/8 inches. Again, it’s in very good condition in the original box and packaging.
And finally we have listed the Marklin/1 Maxi #54862 Caboose from the Atlantic Coast Line. This item is bright red and bears the car number 0198. In Mint condition, this is a four-axle unit with an open platform at both ends, a brake wheel and ladder at both ends and a separately applied cupola.
All of these items were made in Hungary for Marklin, the “World’s Leader in Model Railroading”.

The first is a Wm Britains Covered Army Tender from the British Army. It’s their item #1433. This piece is in mint condition and even comes complete with the drive. We are told that this item is seldom found including the driver so this makes ours very rare. The vehicle is in Army Drab green and has the trailer hitch on the rear still intact. It has a caterpillar-type drive in the rear and the roof of the lorry is in brown canvas color. Comes in original box. Really an exquisite piece and one you’ll want to own.
The second part of the set is the Royal Artillery Ammunition Tender. It’s their item number 1726. The Limber (part of a gun carriage, often containing ammunition, consisting of an axle, pole, and two wheels, that is attached to the rear of an item of a field artillery) is also in Army Drab green and has tow hooks on both ends. One to connect to the Tender and one to connect to the actual piece of artillery. It comes in its original box as well and includes a spare tire (tyre).
And the third part of the set is the 25 pdr. Howitzer Gun. It’s their item number 2026. The Howitzer Gun is on rubber tires (tyres) and once again, is in Army Drab color. It comes with three shots that can be fired from the gun. You can also use caps in the gun but those were not included in the original sale of this wonderful item. All three pieces are believed to be dated in the 1950s-1960s and believed to be 1/32 scale.
All items come in their respective original boxes which are in great condition as well. There are some rub and tear marks on some of the boxes but all have complete and original flaps.
